"SEX-ACT" WRISTBANDS.

The thin, brightly-coloured snagbands have been popular in previous years but appear to have made a comeback and caused a controversy through their link to sexual activity. Under the rules of the game if a band is snapped off the wrist of the wearer, the wearer must offer the physical act denoted by the colour. One Facebook group called '**** bands' has 62,041 members and lists meanings of every colour.

One eight-year-old explained to her mother: “If they snap, I have to make a baby with a boy.”

When a mother questioned her ten-year-old son about the bands he said: “If I snap a black one, the girl has to ‘do sex’ with me.”

Matthew Tomlinson, who is also chairman of the board of governors at Leyland Methodist Junior School, said: "The head teacher has been working hard on this issue. "

"He's visited the shop in Leyland that's selling these bands and has asked them to take them off sale and there will be a message in the school newsletter saying to parents that these bands are not permitted at school."

Schools do not allow/banned the bands as they go against school uniform rules, but there are also concerns about the sexual messages they convey.

About Facebook:
A social networking website that is operated and privately owned by Facebook. Since 2006, anyone over the age of 13 with a valid email address can become a Facebook user. The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in Boston area. It later expanded further to include university students, high school students, and, finally to anyone aged 13 and over.
What Facebook does:
A platform for friends to interact through updating their statuses, and keep in touch with one and other. The website is free and generates revenues from advertising, such as banner ads. Communicating with friends and other users can be done through private or public messages!
What's WOW about Facebook:

-A January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social network by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace.
-Actually, Facebook has met with some controversy. It has been blocked in several countries, including China, Vietnam and Iran. It has also been banned at many places of work to discourage employees from wasting their time using this service.
-Facebook launched a Facebook Platform on 24May 2007, providing a framework for software developers to create applications that interact with the core Facebook features.
